The students will be looking at introductions, setting, and creating a "hook" to gain the reader's attention. In addition, they will be assigned to have all writing finished through checkpoint 4 for Wednesday.

Today they have a review for their i-assignment on Friday. The five verb moods are indicative, imperative, interrogative, subjunctive, and conditional. On Google Classroom a presentation has been loaded for them to review at home. We are still working on our "Hero" children's story. We have started to publish their stories on www. storybird.com. They are looking really nice. They will have to have all of checklist 2 done for Friday on their story.narrative writing.
The students are continuing their study on verb moods. In addition, they are creating the body of their narrative essay. Attached is a timeline to use as a checklist for their "Hero" stories. paragraphs. The students today are learning about verb moods. They have a presentation plus a practice page that they will complete in class. They will continue working on their narrative writing.
The students are having an i-assignment over active & passive verbs. In addition, the new book report guidelines have been added. We will have workdays periodically towards the end of the 2nd quarter to complete the book report. Even though we will have workdays in class, the students are required to be prepared. On Monday the students continued their study on verbals focusing on participles. On Tuesday, we will begin our writing unit on narrative writing. The students will be given their prompt and take a look at samples of various degrees of writing and will analyze them.
This week we are reviewing basic parts of speech. The basic parts of speech are nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives. In addition we are adding verbals starting on Tuesday. Verbals are verb forms: infinitives and gerunds. We will be reviewing on Thursday over gerunds and infinitives and will follow-up with an i-assignment on Friday.
